Your Love is Beautiful (free) 03:07
YOUR LOVE IS BEAUTIFUL They don't like you sharing your life with your best friend They say it's sin. Just stop listening. They don't like you doing what's natural like holding hands That's not Gods plan. Just rise above. Cause you're love is beautiful. Don't ever feel ashamed about loving who you love. People living in fear deny what poets have known For a thousand years. Your love is beautiful People live in chains bound by guilt bound by shame. But that's not your problem And this life's a scary place Till that one funny face Takes your pain away. And your love is beautiful No one ever gets to decide about Loving who they love People living in fear deny what poets have known For a thousand years. Your love is beautiful

CIRCUS PARADE Can't you hear the thundering drummers Can't you see the parade Bound to be the best week all summer Cancel all the plans that you made Flammable Man and the Flying Fellinnis Colonel Crazy's Clown Car Crew Here come the pachyderms and their trainer His lovely daughters too Now I see the lions and tigers Such a frightening sight Followed safely by the Peencott Brothers juggling dynamite You buy peanuts and I'll buy the candy You share, I'll share mine Look, Mr. Marzio's Magic Stallions dancing in a perfect line In the warm sunshine The circus is in town Has it been a whole year? It passed so quickly The circus is in town It's time to break the piggy bank it's three night only The circus is in town Let's go down and watch them Raise that big tent up off of the ground. Mamma says it's a sin But my idea of heaven is filled with ponies and clowns. When you hear the colliappe calling You'll know it's time to go Down to widow Johanson's forty past the old silo There the greys all turn to color there in that dirty tent High wire and prestidigitators you'll wonder where the time went It's money well spent Pastor Miller, for an hour on Sunday, Decried the wages of sin He said a demon can't enter your home Unless you invite him in He shouts " those circus devils are forsaken" Believers tremble and shake He says " one tiny step towards evil is all that it takes Then they all danced with snakes The circus is in town Has it been a whole year? It passed so quickly The circus is in town It's time to break the piggy bank it's three night only The circus is in town Let's go down and hear those people make a joyful sound Preacher says it's a sin But my idea of heaven is filled with jugglers and clowns.

Light of Day 03:27
LIGHT OF DAY they were young and they were strong and quite insane Days stretched before them like the great north plains They talked though the night And they shared their dreams, their crazy schemes But it all went away When seen by the light of day They were high in bright tie dye and they loved to dance Swore they could change the world given half the chance They planned for land with no possessions or money A land of milk and honey But that just wouldn't pay When seen by the light of day Don't let your dreams desert you But machines built in the dark of night can hurt you When seen by the harsh morning light They were loud and quick to laugh and a bit obscene Trying to make every moment last Like some kind of libertine They told their tales of the battles they'd won Revolutions to come But they had nothing to say When seen by the light of day Don't let your dreams desert you But machines built in the dark of night can hurt you When seen by the light of day

JOHNNY CAME MARCHING His parents are proud of him Although they have not seen him in years And at night he wakes wet with sweat and tears But nobody talks of it When Johnny came marching home The girls call out his name As the parade, it rolls down the street And that night at the game the croud were on their feet As they wheeled him on the field When Johnny came marching home Last night I saw him on TV Daring to ask the big question, Why? And the called him a coward They called him a traitor and a spy And they called him a terrorist When Johnny came marching home.

Rusulka If you're out in the nighttime walking and you hear a strange melody Don't you listen to her plea by the water there softly singing her love songs to the moon don't you listen to her tune beware of Rusulka Born a water goblin's daughter sister to the sprite and she sings there every night she sings for her unrequited she sings for every woman scorned as she takes on human form beware of Rusulka She has hair like pure spun gold hypnotic eyes of the deepest green and the finest skin you've ever seen by the water there softly singing don't you fall under her charms or you'll die there in her arms beware of Rusulka

Doctor Krowe 04:47
Doctor Krowe He's a black hat surgeon a devil of degrees he carries death upon his shoulder his Hippocratic oath is pure hypocrisy But no one will ever know, no one alive will ever know no one alive will ever know what goes on behind the eyes of Doctor Krowe Cryptic carvings on a three lock door symbols and footprints dance on a dusty wooden floor leather-bound tomes of forgotten rites and lore ancient face seems like you've seen this man before But no one will ever know, no one alive will ever know no one alive will ever know what goes on behind the eyes of Doctor Krowe He's a black hat surgeon a devil of degrees he carries death upon his shoulder his Hippocratic oath is pure hypocrisy you enter the room the air thick with danger what doesn't kill you can only make you stranger sounds of lost languages in a laudanum haze you'd sell your soul for just another taste But no one will ever know, no one alive will ever know no one alive will ever know what goes on behind the eyes of Doctor Krowe

Eleanor 04:15
Eleanor Eleanor I know that you've been crying I know things couldn't be that bad Anything you want in this world, Anything you want if you'll just reach out and take it It's time to let go of what's gone don't you know the past is prologue Eleanor i know that you've been trying there's a lot of luggage on that train the future is coming on fast but you prefer to nurture all your sorrow leave yesterday in the past take my hand lets embrace today And when i see you in the morning with the sunlight in your hair tear stains on your pillow and that million mile stare I'll try to make you happy until my face turns blue cause now I know it's my pain too Eleanor I'm not sure what you're implying I know men have hurt you before we all have some pain in our past a place where our secrets lie silently sleeping but I'm the one who's standing here now the others have no power they're only memories And when i see you in the morning with the sunlight in your hair tear stains on your pillow and that million mile stare I'll try to make you happy until my face turns blue cause now I know it's my pain too

Ordinary Man 02:57
Ordinary Man He's such a clever lad and so much like his dad not like all the other kids we have here in this town but we can turn him around he'll be happier as an ordinary man when it was time to go, the blue above and the black below and miles and miles of endless broken white and yellow lines until he finally finds that he's just another ordinary man never before had they seen anyone as bold he would swear that night was really day one day he'll look over his shoulder and be happy that he's an ordinary man Not knowing right from wrong he tries to wright things with a song extinguished or distinguished by the words he sings and plays and at the end of the day he finds he's just another ordinary man

Fare Thee Well If I had wings like Noah's dove, I'd fly up river to the one I love. Fare thee well, my Honey, fare thee well. I got a woman, she's long and tall, she moves her body like a cannonball. Fare thee well, my Honey, fare thee well. I remember one night, in the drizzlin' rain, Round my heart I felt an achin' pain. Fare thee well, my Honey, fare thee well. One of these days, and it won't be long, They'll call my name and I'll be gone. Fare thee well, my Honey, fare thee well. If I'd just listened to what mama said, I'd be at home in my own warm bed. Fare thee well, my Honey, fare thee well. But I'm no bird, flying high above Life ain't worth living without the I love Fare thee well, my Honey, fare thee well. Fare thee well, my Honey, fare thee well.

JHC 03:00
JHC JHC could do anything He could play the ukelele He could dance and sing balance a teacup on His head without a drop wasted and His angel food cake is the best you ever tasted JHC could do anything He tried He could tell a funny story that made you laugh till you cried make a dry martini with water and no vermouth and if you said you liked His haircut He'd know if it was truthful Anything, anything He pleases He always says "God bless you" right before somebody sneezes He keeps the party rockin' you know someone has got to He can swim better than you although he chooses not to. JHC did just as they said He raised up Lazurus from the dead He said " my friend, now that you're better, are you thinking what I'm thinking get me a pail of water I could use a good stiff drink" Oh anything, anything he wishes He'll feed you loaves and fishes, you know they'll be delicious His blintzes are amazing, his matzo soup is great He could fly if he wanted but He finds it's ostentatious JHC did as was foretold He brought in humanity from the cold He always knows the winner before the game's begun and if He wanted He could write a funny song better than this one Anything, anything He desires He came into this world to save us from the fires When you think of all the lessons He taught us about living keep in mind as you hear this song the part about forgiving Anything, anything He pleases He always says "God bless you" right before somebody sneezes when I feel all of His blessings coming from above me I know there's one thing He can't do I know He can't not love me.

about

An imperfect set of imperfect songs recorded in an imperfect fashion.

A collection of new and old original songs written and performed by singer/songwriter Jerry Barry and a few of his even more talented friends. Songs range from single guitar and voice to full band arrangements including electric and acoustic guitars, keyboards, violin and vocal harmony.

"This is my new recording, The Imperfectionist. I think the title speaks for itself.
Friends sometimes kid me for still using the word album. To me the word has nothing to do with the actual format. It describes a collection. This album is not just a collection of songs but a collection of recordings. Recorded on different instruments, in different locations with different equipment and because they were recorded over a ten year period, even my voice is quite different throughout." -JB
